Perfume Power! - Avril Lavigne 'Black Star'

This is my third bottle of this perfume and in the 30ml too. The bottle is designed as a star, which has a black star shaped studded cap. Around the neck of the bottle is a studded metal choker ring, which is removable and wearable for your finger. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Mango, Pear & Black Plum Middle Notes: Jasmine, Lotus & Pink Hibiscus Base Notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla & Dark Mexican Chocolate To me it smells really light, fruity, floral and incredibly feminine. The floral notes stand out to me the most, as well as the musk. All of the notes complement each other very well and it is one of my all-time favourite perfumes. My only criticism is  after a while I cannot smell it on me, but people have said they can still smell it, so it must last longer than your nose leads you to believe! I just personally like to be able to still smell the perfume on me, because it is GORGEOUS! I will definitely keep on re-purchasing t

Perfume Power! - Hilary Duff 'With Love'

Photo:  CaliforniaPerfumes.com I bought this again after being without it for a couple of years. The bottle design is very simple and lovely looking. It is a twisted shape, with gold metal banding around the neck. The cap reminds me of a sort of gold bar, but it is plastic with a tint of colour. The bottle design is sort of oriental, which was what Hilary was going for so it suits the scent perfectly. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Mangosteen Fruit & Spices Middle Notes: Cocobolo Wood & Mangosteen Flower Base Notes: Amber Milk & Amber Musk This fragrance is described as being oriental and it smells really light and woody. You can smell the wood and musk, but they are not overpowering notes and you get the slight hint of fruit and flower. I really like this perfume and I think it is suitable for any age of woman as it is light, fresh, clean, fruity, florally and not overpowering so it can be universally marketed. Sadly I have heard this p

Nail Polish Haul #1

Today I have another haul. This time the products are all nail polishes, well except one. I have collected these over time and I still plan on buying more, so there will be another nail polish haul. From BeautyBay.com I got an OPI Nail Lacquer in Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It, it is from the Minnie Mouse collection and I saw it swatched on the internet somewhere and I knew I had to buy it. The downside is that it was kind of expensive for a nail polish, but it’s one of a kind and limited edition. It is a pink and purple glitter shade, with pink confetti hearts mixed in it. I haven’t tried it yet, but I think it will be quite sheer because it’s the type of polish you layer over other colours. It was £11, with free shipping. I also made an order on BarryM.com, because there were some shades I wanted and my local Superdrug and Boots do not sell them. I got three nail paints, the first in Jewel Britannia, which is a red, silver and blue glitter and confetti shade. It is based on the U

Perfume Power! - DKNY 'Be Delicious'

Photo:  FashionDayDreams.com My Mum went to a car boot sale and found this and bought it. My Mum didn’t like it so she gave it to my sister and then my sister gave it to me. The bottle is a sphere shape inspired by an apple. On the smaller sizes the cap is basic like on most perfumes and is made of silver reflective plastic. The bottle base is made of translucent bottle green glass. On the bigger sizes the cap doesn’t come off and it is the actual dispenser, so when you press it down the perfume sprays. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Grapefruit, Cucumber & Magnolia Middle Notes: Tuberose, Rose, Lily-of-the-Valley, Violet & Green Apple Base Notes: Sandalwood, Amber & Wood This perfume smells fruity, floral and fresh and the apple scent really stands out. It is also quite a strong scent, but it is not overpowering. I also think that it is quite universal as it is not sweet. Lastly because the scent is quite strong, it lasts quite a long time on

Perfume Power! - Sarah Jessica Parker 'Covet'

I bought this perfume back in March. I tested it a couple of years ago and I thought I liked it, but since buying it my opinion has slightly changed. The bottle design is a flower. The cap looks like petals and the base of the bottle is rounded, so to me it looks like a flower. It is clear glass and the liquid is a green/yellow colour. I really like the bottle design; it is very feminine and will look cute sat on a dressing table. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Lavender, Pelargonium Leaf, Dark Chocolate & Sicilian Lemon Middle Notes: Honeysuckle, Magnolia & Lily Of The Valley Base Notes: Amber, Musk, Cashmere Wood, Vetiver & Teak Wood To me it smells very floral and mature. I can smell the musk, lily of the valley and sicilian lemon, but I can’t pick out any other of the notes. If chocolate wasn’t listed, I would never have known it was in there! It does last a while on the skin, for me it lasted an hour and then lingered slightly for a bit afte
